The Egyptian world was born out of darkness and the only existing being was Heka, the god of magic. Egyptian mythology says that the creator of the capitol hill, known as ben-ben to the Egyptians. This creationism has its parallels to the birth of Roman mythology with the story of Romulus and Remus. Egyptian mythology instead starts with one god named Atum, and in some cases known as Ptah. Ptah then gave birth to his two children, after mating with his own shadow. He then gave birth to both Shu, the god of air and Tefnut, the goddess of moisture. Both made contributions to the political and social areas of ancient Egyptian order.
