Izanami (伊弉冉尊 or 伊邪那美命, She Who Beckons) is the sister and wife of the god Izanagi. She gave birth to many gods but died after giving birth to the fire god.
Izanami stayed in the Underworld after her death, breaking her marriage vows with his brother.
Funfact! Izanami appears frequently in popular culture, like the anime Noragami, Naturo and the video game Persona 4.
