The god Izanagi (伊邪那岐 or 伊弉諾, He Who Beckons) is the god who created Japan, along with his wife and sister, Izanami.
They are also the parents of many other deities, who populated the land. However, s he himself created other gods, including Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and Susanoo.
Fun fact! he has a tectonic plate named after him: the Izanagi Plate.
