Zeus/Jupiter

Zeus (Jupiter in roman mythology) is the father of the gods and god of the sky. His father was Cronus, a titan who eated his kids. Rhea, his mother, hid Zeus before his father could eat him. After he grew up, he went to see his father and forced him to vomit his brothers and sisters: Hera/Juno, Demeter/Ceres, Hades/Pluto, Poseidon/Neptune and Hestia/Vesta. There was a long battle called the Titanomachy between the titans and the gods, and the gods won. After winning, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus shared the world, and Zeus ruled the skies. He is married to his sister Hera, but Zeus is also known for his constant infidelities. He is the father of many deities, including Aphrodite/Venus in some versions of the myth, but his favorite is Athena/Minerva.

Symbols (see image): the thunderbolt, the eagle and the bull. The thunderbolt and the eagle would be because of him being the god of the sky. He also transformed into an eagle to seduce Ganymede and into a white bull to seduce/rape Europa.

His worship extended to the Roman Empire; Jupiter and Zeus have no big differences.

The video below explains Zeus' story on a humorist tone. The video is in Spanish, but has English subtitles.
